[mv] mysql permission prob

I'm trying to get the barry demo to run with mysql. Making the catalog I 
have this problem after entering the mysql root user and password in
makecat. I also tried leaving the mysql user and pass blank.

I was able to get past this by removing the root pw for mysql. Interchange
now starts without any errors after deleted some *.old files but I cannot
access anything. All the files products/*.sql are one byte long. I do have
db files in /usr/local/var/test_XXXXX. 

My other Interchange pages using text DB are running fine, any ideas where
to look?
