[mv] Cybercash vs. PGP or both?
****** message to minivend-users from Jennifer Telisky <teliskyj@karmanos.org> ******
OK I have it all setup, except I'm noticing a few bugs. I'm running
Minivend4 on Solaris with CyberCash V3.2.
I did not install PGP or put in a encryptor descriptive cause I thought
if you use Cybercash, it is not necessary. However, the orders being
emailed are sending Credit Card info unencrypted. Since CyberCash is
doing the verification, I do not want credit card info being emailed. I
thought if you used cybercash and didn't use creditcard auto, this
information would not be sent via email. Is it something in the
order_profile, ie: &credit_card standard keep. Do I need to remove this
line? Or should I just install PGP and forget about it, even though our
users don't need the credit card info?
Also, I'm having a problem with checkout... When an invalid cc number
is inputted, I get the failed page however it doesn't "RED" the credit
card section.
Another issue: Minivend seems to be saving my credit card info in the
userdb. When I put in subsequent orders, even though I'm choosing not
to pay by credit card, it is still sending my credit card number via
email. I've removed the mv_credit_card_info from the userdb (as
suggested in the docs), should I also remove the other credit_card
related fields from the userdb, or will that screw things up? Again, I
guess if I installed PGP I wouldn't be too concerned about this issue
since the info would be encrypted.
Thanks for any suggestions, advice, how you solved these issues would be
appreciated!
