If you've not been mucking with the internals it should just run, maybe
with a few changes in catalog.cfg.  Those kick out as obvious errors
when you restart.  You should not need to change any mySQL tables.

If you have been playing with the internals all bets are off.


I would suggest this setup:

Root your new minivend4 packages at:  /var/mvend4nn
Put your old minivend at: /var/mvend3nn
mv your old catalog to:  /var/mv/catalog3
cp -aR your old catalog to a new one at: /var/mv/catalog
change your minivend.cfg in /var/mvend3nn to look at catalog3
and make sure it runs.  Now you can revert just by changing
your vlink.
Set up 4 to look at /var/mv/catalog.  Start it.  TCP port
will conflict; change it in 4 if you need it.  The catalog
will now be running in 3 and 4 at same time and will go to
either one depending on vlink.  If you can keep your head
straight, you can set up 4 in a mirrored subdirectory.
