Re: [mv] Credit Card Processing in UK
****** message to minivend-users from delionsweb - minivend <minivend@delionsweb.net> ******
Hi Steve,
I share your pain although our circumstances differ. ;-)
I have to set up payment processing for a store using a gateway offered by
AccessPoint (http://www.apc.net/).
I have some experience with Authorize.Net and Signio (Now Verisign Payment
something...)
So what's my point:
I am going to approach the whole thing conceptually and deal with the
details only when I absolutely have to.
It seems that these payment services pretty much fall into two camps:
CyberCash and the rest ;-)
Why? Cybercash seems to use some local programs to do some of the work and
the others use CGI-like scripts to which you pass 'form' variables.
So first you decide which group your target gateway falls into and then you
understand how that groups is handled in Interchange / Minivend. There are
hints/ examples and help in the mail archives from people that have
successfully set up CyberCash and also Authorize.Net and Signio so both
groups are covered as 'done that' ...
For the non-Cybercash group it seems there are three stages in the processing:
- Map the IC payment info collected in the checkout process to the form
variables of the specific service
- Post / send this to some processing gateway URL
- Receive the response and analyze and act.
Anyway, I am probably not breaking any new ground but those are my thoughts
on approaching it over here ...
