There's no reason you can't process this information directly to the bank
on your own system.  If you already have a swipe box you probably can set
up your cc processing UNIX box with a modem and use CCVS
<http://www.ccvs.com/> or something similar to do an AUTH right at order
completion.  The trick is keeping the phone line connected or making the
call fast enough.

It would take some custom programming and using CCVS it could even be done
inside minivend with UserTags if you really wanted, or you could do it
command line like pgp is done.
