Personally, I know unix/linux, but still know zero about databases. Read

I've got a perfectly happy, healthy, profitable Minivend running and have
only just recently purchased O'Reilly's _Programming Perl_. I've used it
more to guide me in hacking smaller cgi-type PERL programs than to do
anything with Minivend. I have extensive programming experience in other
languages and HTML authoring experience. Though, having battled Minivend,
everything else is easy! (Except for the Realserver)

I'm really interested in those brave souls who are weathering mySQL and
variants. I just got my mySQL server running, but have not made it "do"
anything yet. The plan is to transfer some existing company databases into
mySQL and use minivend or other program as a front-end on our Intranet. I
too would appreciate any leads as to PERL-based mySQL interaction.
