Hi! Racke,

Well 209.109.237.114 is the IP address of one of the machines I am using to remotely
access the pages. But, in fact I can use any machine to access any pages through port
7786, and the regular one on 80 would just go bad for every body, not just the one used to
access 7786 and crach the one on 80. However, the pages can still be accessed just fine
through 7786 from any server. So minivend was fine. It just doesn't talk to Apache any
more once 7786 is accessed.

I'm using RH Linux 6.0 e-commerce edition, with Perl 5.005_03 built for i386. My apache
is 1.3 with SSL... (I haven't enable the key yet) Basically everything that comes in the
package of the recent release of RH Linux 6.0 packge. My minivend version is 3.14.

I have found another way to use minimate through port 80 by creating .access of 0 byte and
.access_gate files in the artificial directories of /simple/pages/admin/ (and all its
sub-directories) and /simple/pages/config/. It appears that works, but I don't know if
this is as secure as going through the internal web server. Any advice on that?

So, if I can't fix the problem, how do I turn off the internal server completely just to
prevent people from crashing my server? I mean, people can hack and guess the port number
even if I change it from 7786 to something else, right?

Many many thanks for you kind help.

Kyle
