[ic] e-mail delays

Hey everyone-

My order confirmation emails (from etc/mail_receipt) are going out 
IMMEDIATELY after an order is
placed (arriving in the mailbox IMMEDIATELY). However, my other [email] 
tags are acting funny. Some
seem to get 'queued' and go out anywhere from 5-30min later, while others 
get canned. The ones that
get canned come back with this error:

(reason: 501 5.1.8 <interch@localhost.localdomain>... Domain of sender 
address interch@localhost.localdomain does not exist)

Is there any way I can send mail out the same method that mail_receipt gets 
sent out with (it seems
that works, no problem) - I'm refraining from beating up sendmail because 
the order confirmation email
goes out so flawlessly.

Anyone have any ideas?
