[ic] PGP error/status codes

Hello,

This is about the 'tutorial' catalog.

When I omit one of the required fields in checkout.html, (it goes to the needfield.html and everything works as it should) and I get the following error in the catalog's error.log file:

tutorial /cgi-bin/tutorial/process PGP failed with status 2: 
---------------------------------------------------------------

Is this a Perl or PGP error code and how do I find out what it means?

In the archives, someone shifted the error code 8bits to get at another code by:
perl -e 'print 131072 >> 8, "\n"
but what does this mean?
