[ic] Problem trying to add a customer via the Admin interface

Hi all,
  I am running Linux 7.3 and Interchange 4.8.7 running over MySQL. This
is my first time working with Interchange and everything has gone fine
to this point. However, when I attempt to add a customer using the
'Create New Customer' option in the admin interface I have a problem:
Everything appears to proceed fine and it seems as if the customer is
added. But when I look for the customer in the userdb (either through
the IC admin interface or through MySQL control panel) the customer has
not been added. Furthermore, I cannot seem to make any mods to existing
customer records. I can add and modify inventory just fine and
everything else works fine as well. I can add the customer with the
MySQL CP and it shows up in the IC Admin interface fine.
  I have checked the permissions in MySQL for the account IC uses and
they appear to be correct. I am stumped and any help will be greatly
appreciated. I have searched the archives but can find no similar
problem.
