[ic] Conversion problem solved

Well I finally figured out my problem where I was getting the error

"Auto-create of user failed."

The problem was that the value in the file  etc/username.counter  was
out of sync with the username value in the userdb database table.  Once
I reset this counter value it all worked again.

Thanks everybody for you help, it has been a long week solving this
simple problem.
