In this case I would set up a separate table like products_private so
that users can create their products first, without being "live" then
when ready, they can make them live and that would copy them over to the
"products" table.  Remember, "products" is a public searchable table.
Maybe also use a different userdb as well (affiliates?)  IC is a good
choice for this level of customization, but you got your work cut out
for you ;)
