Hi Mike,

Thank for the feed back.  I think I will experiment with the META tag. 

The current experiment shows room temperature by changing the background style and the state of doors and windows eg open/closed/ by changing the border style.

The logic is IF state from db query THEN style.

The site will be low traffic maybe 5 users so refreshing while not so pretty should be simpler and and involve less programming.
