Re: credit card handling

Joe,
You've got to use a third party payment system.
Essentially, the best way to do it is to have a merchant account (which
you normally get through your financial instituion) as well as a payment
system (such as Cybercash.com or PaymentNet.net). I advise reading
CyberCash.com to get a good idea of how things work.
Alternatively, you can a service such as Ibill.com, however, they'll use
their own merchant account to process your payments and will send you a
check at the end of each month. (Minus a hefty 10-20% "service") fee.
If you do more than several transactions a month, I wouldn't recommend a
system such as Ibill. If you already can accept credit cards, then you
probably have a merchant account already. In that case all you'll need
is a payment system such as CyberCash.com
It works like this.. (i think)
Stage 1:
NetStore (sends cc info) --> Payment System (requests authorisation) -->
Bank (processes authorisation)
Stage 2:
Bank -> (sends auth status) --> Payment System (sends auth status) -->
NetStore.
Best Regards,
Raj Dutt

Hi all,
I was wondering, is there a way to configure the checkout procedure so
that
when a user enters a credit card number, the card is actually processed,
validated, and authorization is acquired before the order is ever
processed
and user info is stored :/ ???
