Uhm - Have you ever seen a file named "/usr/local/httpd/cgi-bin/"/simple
?
I think the problem is that you use the standard-file/dir-names (which
are read from the /etc/httpd/httpd.conf-file) MV suggests while
installing the demo shop. Having a SuSE myself I noticed that the
cgi-bin-directory is written in " in the config-file (this is where the
first part "/.../" comes from.

But now to the solution...
When you are asked where to install the simple-cgi you should first
read, then think how the file is going to be called (and if the
default-value is OK) before pressing return.
You will have to enter
/usr/local/httpd/cgi-bin/simple
without any " or /"/s.

If it still does not work - check the file permissions. The owner and
the group of the simple-cgi have to be the minivend-user. The
access-rights should be -rwsr-xr-x (yes, the cgi needs suid). BTW: This
is explained in the FAQ - "We're sorry, the MiniVend server is
unavailable...".

PS: I think "a team of SAP R/3 consultants" should now that writing
"P.L.E.A.S.E" (No - it is not about saying please - it is about how you
say it) will not help getting fast answers.
