Wah - help me - I am getting weird...

I"ve just reinstalled MV3.14 completely from scratch - and the simple demo
worked with [calc]1+2.5[/calc] - gave me 3.5, 

UNTIL I added my shop to the minivend.cfg. Now it displays only 3. (Note -
these are two different shops the simple-demo and mine...)

What could have happened here? Does my shop overwrite anything in the global
minivend-cfg? Is this possible? And what is it that overwrites something?
My locale-definitions?!?
