Look at the locale.asc file in the products directory.
[L]Hello[/L] will show Hello when the user is in the standard
US English catalog.
If the user changes the locale to de_DE (german), the text will
change to Guten Tag.
To change locales (from US to German), do the following:
US URL: www.yourstore.com/cgi-bin/mystore/
GERMAN URL: www.yourstore.com/cgi-bin/mystore/process/locale/de_DE/page/index
FRENCH URL: www.yourstore.com/cgi-bin/mystore/process/locale/fr_FR/page/index
