Way easier means way cheaper.  They usually listen to that.

Every client doing even a small amount of business gets customized
rate tables and that is hard to generalize.  We have a project 
starting after New Year's that will instead set up hooks to 
talk directly to FedEx system in Memphis.  If that turns out
to be slow or unreliable they can provide a local server; they
don't yet offer that on linux so I'd rather not.  ;^)

I don't yet know how we will do this - probably another daemon.
