What amazes me is the gall and the unabashed greed.  Microsoft is backing
this - does Bill need another mansion?  Does he need to fill his swimming
pool with $1000 bills?

There are so many other ways that these companies could "protect" their
property from license violations, which would not involve legislation.  I
have nothing against these companies wanting to make money with their
products and protect their license agreements, but I am opposed to this way
of going about it.  It's also obvious that there is more to it than simple
protection - they want CONTROL.  Those listees in the U.S. know that, as a
general rule, when our government gets involved, all hope of sanity and
balance is essentially lost.  That is exactly what MS and others are hoping
for.
