[mv] Order Subtotal in Perl Tag

Can anyone tell me how to get at the equivalent of the [subtotal
noformat=1] tag from inside a Perl construct such as:

[perl arg=????]
	do something if $Safe{'????'}->{subtotal} > 349.99;
[/perl]

What needs to be the ???? argument to access cart variables? I
am successfully doing this with 'scratch' variables but can't seem
to grok the constructs for other variables.
