[mv] Strange behavior in more list on results page--user session id changes!

Hello all,

Well, I'm seeing something the I can't yet explain. When a user clicks
on a category search and then is sent to the rsults page, the inital
item display is fine (i.e. the results correspond to the category they
chose). But if there are more items returned than matchlimit (in this
case, more than 10) when they choose one of the links from the more list
at the bottom of the page, say group 7 of 9, they get a new results page
which has nothing to do with the category. It's all wrong, and in
looking at the url, I see the session ID has changed. This is a 3.14-5
install with PageCache and SearchCache enabled. This ran fine on the
development machine, but now that the catalog is on my provider's site
(superb.net, whose performance seems to have improved a lot in the last
1.5 weeks) I'm seeing this behavior. Is there anything anyone can think
of that they (or I) have misconfigured to result in this? It's
essentially rendered my catalog useless and I'm really stuck and I'd
really really really be grateful for any help on this one.
