Re: [mv] How to use/search fields from different databse files ?
****** message to minivend-users from ".cory.trese." <digital@specialty-books.com> ******
This will probably be a "loop search." At least it probably will be if you
decide try what you're talking about. Can't see how it would go any other
way...
)>Now , i would like to make a search (one line search)
)>for all of this week's specials.
[loop search="fi=specials.asc/ra=yes"]
[sort products:category] <--------- could be SO wrong *
[loop-code]
[loop-data products description]
[loop-data special special_price]
...and so on.
(* this may be the incorrect syntax to use within a [loop-search] tag, but I
know a tag for [loop-search] can be made to work, since I've done it in the
past. )
You can use the "[loop-data]" tag to :
[loop-data database fieldname]
Evaluate to the field name FIELD NAME in the arbitrary database table database,
for the current item. Using this tag you should be able to spread your
products database over an arbitrary number of files (not that this is a _good_
idea performance wise!)
The example above is extracted from the mv 3.14-5 manual (since I'm not sure
what ver. you are using) but the same concepts are definitely available in 4.02
