The "header" of what?

><INPUT TYPE="hidden" NAME="mv_search_field" VALUE="description">

Maybe because you are not using the feature correctly? I think you are
supposed to do something like this:

     [set my_profile]
         mv_search_field=description
         mv_search_field=category
         mv_search_field=manufacturer
         mv_orsearch=yes
     [/set]

Then in the search form, set a variable with the name of the profile:

     <INPUT TYPE=hidden NAME=mv_profile VALUE=my_profile>
