[mv] PGP key trouble
****** message to minivend-users from Barney Treadway <barney@wttech.com> ******
Greetings Group,
This may be a tad off topic but I'm a bit lost and I'm pretty sure someone
here has conquered this.
I finally got orders encrypted with PGP and sent via email. (Thanks to all
posters in archives!)
Variable ENCRYPTOR /usr/local/bin/pgpe -r orders@mystore.com -fat
2>/home/mydir/pgp-error.log
with
Encrypt Program set to __Encryptor__
This made me very happy until I tried to decrypt the message and PGP tells
me I need the secret/private key to decrypt. No problem I think, I know how
to export public keys, I'll just export the private key. Noooo way. Tons of
documentation on keys and safety and please backup your keys, etc. I try the
./pgp -kx user keyfile secring.skr or "-kv" but get keyring view erros etc.
Should I have created the key pair locally and put public key on server,
made it the default signing and let mv use that? Or should I just try to
find the darn secring.skr and make a copy to send to my local machine?
Thanks a bunch in advance!!
Barney Treadway
