I agree. If you'll forgive bluntness, Paul, you seem to be struggling,
painfully and in public, with Unix/Apache basics; these are not even
Minivend issues, yet. You give the impression of someone who's getting
nowhere and is doing little to help himself, beyond asking repeatedly "for
clues". I suggest you either need to grab some expert help, or better yet do
some reading; and _then_ ask for help with any remaining issues. I don't
think it's fair, or sensible, to ask the list readers here to provide you
with a basic education.
Books: re Apache I heartily recommend "Apache: the Definitive Guide" by Ben
& Peter Laurie (O'Reilly). Very readable; entertaining, even. Re Unix: there
are obviously loads, but maybe the online "Unixhelp" project is a good
start. Re SSL: the Apache book is again helpful, or consult e.g. the mod_ssl
project pages (which version of SSL are you using? which OS?).
