RE: [mv] OpenBSD/nosuid drive issue: resolved
****** message to minivend-users from "Steve Fairhead" <steve@sfdesign.co.uk> ******
Hi again,
I said:
>> Back to the Apache book - I didn't fully understand suEXEC, and I guess I
may need to. <<
So true, so true. I took my courage in both hands and installed MiniVend on
the London backbone server after noting that the Apache setups differed in
this one respect (the London one explicitly supports suEXEC). Configured the
simple catalog, and - waddya know - it works!! Cool. I did have to manually
chown/chmod as expected; but no problems, really. Smoooooth.
(I also saw an invalid path error when enabling MySQL in the makecat
process, but all seems ok without it. All the CPAN stuff had gone by
suspiciously quickly - I'd figured it must all already be there, but maybe
not - how does one tell?)
So, moving swiftly on: in Simple I find that the Country field in "account
registration" collapses to nothing when set to "other", before getting a
chance to set United Kingdom - is this a known issue with the catalog
itself? Or pilot error? (Catalog available at
http://www.fivetrees.com/simple.)
Smug of Brighton
(and thanks, Mike, for a cool program)
