[mv] How can I give away a certain quantity of ONE product item if order total > $ 500 ????????

Hi list.

I have scanned the docs first and the mailing list of course.
I think I should first store the ordered amount for the particular product
in a scratch variable. [set totalforproduct][mv_item_quantity][/set]

Then recall it on the checkout-page with
[if ordered 7866-4]
    [discount ALL_ITEMS]
        ->> can anybody suggest a formula or calculation with
"totalforproduct" * [price 7866-4] or something like this? <<--
    [/discount]
[/if]

Or.....am I totally in the dark and is there a far better solution?
