[mv] Please help crash a minivend server!

****** message to minivend-users from "kyle@invisio.com" <kyle@invisio.com> ******

I have done a parallel install of mv3.14 on a FreeBSD server.
In the past the MV server would die with no errors anywhere.

I'm attempting to see if the solution proposed by Mike will fix
the problem:

 MaxServers 0
 HouseKeeping 1

I have not made these changes yet because I need to verify that
the problem still exists (get it to die). So far I have been unable
to get it to die, so I need help. I DO NOT want hacking attempts
etc, I just need as many of you as possible to open a browser
and load the following url:

http://www.secure-order-form2.com/cgi-bin/simple
and then minimize your browser.

The page simply returns the text "Test Page" and your cart ID
(So as not to waste bandwidth) It also does a loop from 1 to
1 million in a calc tag (just to keep it busy in the background)
The page also has a meta refresh tag to reload the page after
10 seconds so it will keep reloading as long as your browser
is open and your Internet connection is "on".

I will monitor the server and if/when it dies unexpectedly I will then
make the changes above and restart it and ask for your help
once again to see if it will die with the changes.

No need to contact me if you do get the "Minivend server unavailable"
message, as I will be monitoring it and will know when it happens.

This first test will only run until/if mv dies or 04/14/00 (Friday pm). If
the server
gets too overloaded, I may change the meta refresh tag to a longer time.

Thanks,
Kyle Cook (KC)
