If the former you will have a rough learning curve with
minivend. If you don't know about paths on UNIX figure this
will take you order of magnitude say a year. If the latter,
I'd strongly recommend you contact one of the people listed
as consultants on pages at minivend.com. You might be up and
running in a couple of days.

My aim was to have an up-and-running store relatively quickly. Thanks for
your reply, cfm, and also to Dan for his. I have no Telnet experience (my
webhost, ValueWeb, doesn't allow it) so think this program is over my head.
At the risk of being tacky, could anyone recommend a simple program? I was
looking for security in taking credit card information, with a shopping cart
as a little bonus. As long as I have the former, I can live without the
latter (does it really matter if a customer jots down a code number and price
and enters it in a form? They do so all the time with print catalogs.
Expert opinion?), so email encryption could work, I suppose.
Thanks everyone, and my best to you with your online stores.
Victoria ;-)
