Hmmm...Minivend.

We have had a lot of the same problems...and many other problems.

Its been very frustrating trying to solve all these problems and bugs.

We've dropped ALL of our Minivend catalogs and switched to using PHP 
scripting.  We found it much easier to learn PHP instead of all the 
Minivend tags.  While the simple PHP catalogs are not as full featured as 
Minivend out of the box, its not hard to write the code yourself to do 
it.  And then, you know exactly what you got!
