Maybe thats the essence of this discussion. Someone who is not used to
Perl will get frustrated except he wants to learn MV inside (which you
described as the the minivend learning curve).
I am no Perl-crack (but I think I do know a bit of it), and especially
concerning multiple mysql-dbs and individual checkout-modules (where the
ccard clearing is different to the US) drove me to PHP.
(And sometimes mysterious arrousing problems - like the one which
created this subject.) Next to this there be should a way to solve the
problem of Andre!

Another point is that your boss always wants to see great results in a
short time. I do believe MV has power, PHP seemed to be easier for ME!
