Re: [mv] use of demos as starting point
****** message to minivend-users from "Nick Pleis" <npleis@saratogaweb.com> ******
I actually agree with this statement, I think that in this case a demo is
worth quite a bit, particularly given the "what you write is what you see"
nature of HTML and most of the associated MML tags.
However, I think the biggest problem is the demo (primarily talking about
"simple" here) that currently exists. It's actually a really cool demo that
does alot of neat things. But it seems to exist to show off as many of
Minivends features as it can. It definitely has an important place.
However, I think simpler demos would be a tremendous benefit. Putting
together a series of demos each with very targeted points and simple syntax
might help the newbies out quite a bit. I think that's a better way to go,
right now sorting through the various parts of the demo can be somewhat
daunting when you first start out.
Whoever suggested the series of demo approach (where we have one to
demonstrate very basic shopping carts, one for cybercash, one geared towards
demonstrating sql interaction, etc..) is really on to something IMHO.
Nick
