RE: [mv] Moving an existing Minivend configuration

****** message to minivend-users from "Christopher Thompson" <ct@arborinternet.com> ******

Here is a list of things I would check:

- Your Perl installation. This often has modules added to make Minivend
work.
- Changing MV versions. You should understand the differences, bugs, etc.
- Any patches to the Minivend source
- Configuration files. Obvious.
- Profile files in etc
- Writable data files in the products dir: userdb
- Writable data files in the etc dir: counter files
- Payment processing software (e.g. Cybercash)
- Placement of special files
- Then check of the tags in you pages still all work

I think if the OS was the same, I might try tar'ing everything up,
restoring it on the new system and see if it works.

Subject: [mv] Moving an existing Minivend configuration

Hi everybody,

I am a newbie using Minivend. I am just trying to make run an already
running minivend configuration in another machine for development. Which
is the best method to do that? Should I copy all the files from the source
machine, and then battle against configuration files? Or should I install
minivend on the target machine, and try to set up the catalog imported
instead?

I'm quite lost, any help will be appreciated. Thanks

    Unai
