RE: [mv] unique sku's for color/size/etc.
****** message to minivend-users from "Christopher Thompson" <ct@arborinternet.com> ******
I find that modifiers are often not as flexible as having a unique product
code for each color/size option. I have implemented this several times by
adding an additional column to the database to indicate sub-products.
Sub-products have the code for the master product in this field, but no
category information so they do not appear in searches. I then set up the
_modifer_ selection to select these sub-products.
This method also allows arbitraty price differences between product
variations. It also usually easier and more flexible for clients to enter
their data this way, rather than trying to map their pricing scheme onto
Minivend's pricing/modifier features.
