[mv] MiniMate problem and Link directory

****** message to minivend-users from "Ron Phipps" <takedown@cdsnet.net> ******

Hello,

I'm currently working on another ecommerce site. When I originally
installed the catalog I told makecat that the catalog would be housed in
/home/httpd, I then deleted the directories it created, removed the catalog
from the minivend.cfg. I re-ran make cat and had it setup the html space in
/home/caseetc. However the caseetc file in the cgi-bin directory would not
function properly. I would receive the normal "The server is unavailable".
I noticed that in the /home/httpd/cgi-bin directory there was still a copy
of the caseetc and so I did a symbolic link from /home/httpd/cgi-bin/caseetc
=> /home/caseetc/public_html/cgi-bin/caseetc and the store could be viewed
properly through the domain. Do you have any idea why it would work
correctly from one directory through a symbolic link but the actual program
won't work from that same directory? The permissions for the file are setup
for minivend.minivend and read rwsr-xr-x.

I think as a result of this symbolic link when I try to reach MiniMate it
comes up with page not found (A Minivend error). The reason I believe this
is that I can reach the main menu from our domain (which is hosted in
/home/httpd) but can't reach it through the customer's domain (which is
hosted in /home/caseetc/public_html).

Does anyone know how to recreate the link file for a catalog without
re-running makecat? Thanks for your help!

-Ron
