There is some trickiness to using "mv_searchspec" in a scan-type search. See 
docs under "One-click searches"

Or you can do what I do. You can use the search variable mv_value to pass the 
search paramenters from page to page. This works a lot better for me than 
using mv_searchspec. The documentation, under "Search Reference" explains it.
