[mv] Internal server errors

I was editing a minived catalog yesterday and changing items
in the database and on the catalog.cfg and now I get internal server errors
when trying to access the catalog. everything
worked fine the first few times but then crashed. I've tried
to reconfigure but it always fails (i don't know why) and the
admin page is in error too. since I still have all the files,
I assume all hope is not lost, but I've been up and down the documentation
and can't figure out a thing. what should I do to
get this thing back running? I feel like an idiot for having broken
it...many thanks in advance.
