Re: [mv] [MV4.04a] AOL , whats up with them ??: AOL

This thread is almost amusing (I don't mean to upset anyone,
it just seems like the energizer bunny :-).

Jim,
This sounds like you edited the basket page and
removed a key piece of information: the hidden form field
for [data session id] with out it, (and no cookies turned on)
you will get the problem you have described.

Without cookies, the ONLY way to track customers is
by passing the [data session id] in ALL forms (the links
will include it automatically if you use [page] or [area]
etc.

Take a look at the simple demo, better yet install the simple
demo and try it in your browser to see if the problem disappears.

Also you will probably find that by turning off cookies in your normal
browser, you will run into the same problem.

There still may be a separate issue that is affecting cart loss at
secure pages, or maybe, that is why you need to check that you
are passing the data session id first.

This is NOT a new problem with AOL/WebTV, instead this IS an
old problem with bad configuration/html/mv tags.

PS: You really should listen to Mike (IE give more details, configuration
settings, etc)

Kyle (KC)
