Okay kids, here's a simple solution that I've used for years and should 
work for everyone.  Put this at the top of all your product pages:

[set lastproduct][item-code][/set]
[set mv_put_session]Yes[/set]

And on your basket page, continue shopping can link to:

[area href="[scratch lastproduct]"]"

OR however you want to do it... like pointing continue shopping to the 
index.  The continue shopping button is supposedly an important part of a 
cart (I guess if you don't have any NAVIGATION on the page 
http://www.dack.com/web/shopping_cart.html).  I've found that most people 
are smart enough to hit the "back" button on their browser, or pick a new 
category/search from the site's navigation areas. Anyway...
