[mv] bug report: MV4.02 makecat stalls
****** message to minivend-users from Mark Stosberg <mark@summersault.com> ******
Hello,
I'm experiencing an unexpected issue with the "makecat" script that
comes with MV4.02
Just after running the script (as root) and entering a catalog name, the
script appears to stall, while 'top' reports that the memory and cpu
usage is slowly and steadily growing (past 15 megs when I stopped it!).
Below is a paste of what my simple session looked like:
<snip>
su-2.02# /usr/local/mvend/bin/makecat
Select a short, mnemonic name for the catalog. This will be
used to set the defaults for naming the catalog, executable,
and directory, so you will have to type in this name frequently.
NOTE: This will be the name of 'vlink' or 'tlink', the link CGI
program. Depending on your CGI setup, it may also have the
extension .cgi added.
If you are doing the demo for the first time, you might use "basic".
Catalog name? store
makecat -- MiniVend catalog installation program.
*** We will be making a catalog named 'store'. ***
^C
</snip>
This happened whether I ran the script as "root", "mvend", or as the
intended catalog user.
I'm using FreeBSD 3.1 and Perl 5.005_02
Any ideas?
Thanks,
-mark
