[ic] Cross Sells

Help! I can't get this feature to be predictable. It appears that I 
can't really control which item shows up for each category, though it 
seems I should from the cross sell dialog box for a specific item. Also, 
an "item" routinely appears as a cross sell that has no product or price 
or anything, just the field labels. Any help???
