Check out FreeSSL.com. The good news is, the StarterSSL I can
sell for $25/year right now. The bad news is, they handle work on
browsers from IE 5.01, Netscape 7 and Mozilla 1.0+. They are NOT
chained. They also have a 30 day free testing version called
FreeSSL, great for testing where you don't want to see the 
pop up window asking if going to this site is approved. They claim
they have 96% browser recognition.

I've got a few shops using them, as long as you don't get many 
IE 4.0 or Netscape 6/4.72 browsers attempting to purchase, it 
works great (and saves a good amount of money). If you want to
