It is a function of Minivend's file upload, which refuses to traverse
symlinks or upload outside of its catalog directory. This is a good
thing for security, but can be a pain otherwise.

I am working on an image file "widget" for Minimate. It would do an
upload then copy to a defined directory, and auto-traverse the directory
for displaying the existing files, perhaps with optional pseudo-thumbnail
generation via Image::Size.
