Hi Brian,

PostgreSQL is much better, because it has referential integrity,
which is essential in e-commerce. That means, there will be
no products that do not belong to some category, no orders
belonging to non-existent users, etc.

It is 2-3 times slower than MySQL, but is closer to SQL92,
so you will not have to re-learn SQL to use it.

Anyway, make backups often, because any database contains
bugs, even best one. Also, linux ext2 filesystem is not very good
for holding important data, because it corrupts often on hardware
failures. *BSD's UFS is much better from that point of view.
