I actually built one of these once, back in MV3.08 or so days, on
a Windows box. It was going to be a touch-screen kiosk mirroring
an online catalog, but the project never took off.
This effort was mightily helped by the fact that the Windows version
file locking routine was sub {1}. I think I changed the source to not
do sessions, so nothing was ever written.
I have fixed the MSIE redirect problems of the internal web server
in Interchange, so it would be even more possible to do this.

8-) In this case, the hard part would be mapping the right files to the
CDROM. With disk space as cheap as it is, it is probably just easier to
copy from the CDROM via an RPM and put up a demo catalog. And install
Apache at the same time. 8-) But the internal web server would serve
the images if you wanted it to.
