RE: [mv] Minivend site on a CD-ROM?
****** message to minivend-users from "Christopher Thompson" <ct@arborinternet.com> ******
Thanks for the info Mike. I don't think installing Apache is a option. A
simple installation on low end machines is what is wanted.
I guess what is not clear to me is the mechanics of doing this. The concept
I have is of replacing the Apache/CGI interface with a direct call to Perl.
I imagine an [area catalog] statement generating a URL something like (E:
being the CD-ROM):
"E:\perl\bin\perl E:\mvend\bin\minivend E:\mycat\pages\catalog.html?..."
or would it call the catalog CGI script which would in turn call the
minivend script, such as:
"E:\perl\bin\perl E:\bin\mycat E:\mycat\pages\catalog.html?..."
Obviously I am giving these as examples with full paths. I am just trying to
understand how to get from:
request -> Apache -> cgi -> minivend -> Apache -> html
to:
request -> minivend -> html
or
request -> cgi -> minivend -> html
