  I use FreeBSD almost all the time, and linux just a little bit, and I
have never installed Minivend on a linux machine. My impression is that
they are largely the same with mostly subtle differences. I'm unaware
how permissions systems may differ. I know in some cases, FreeBSD tries
to be more secure, which could perhaps be a reason it would have more
restrictive default permission schemes...  just guessing.
